Objective: The aim of this research was to study and compare the quality of life of registered nurses and executive nurses at the Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University.
Material and Methods: Two hundred and thirty one professional and 30 executive nurses from Songklanagarind Hospital were selected by simple random sampling, and they completed a questionnaire adapted from Rongktongkul 2003.
Results: The average age of registered nurses was 30.39 years. Ninety one point two percent had graduate education and 53.6% were single. Both registered and executive nurses felt their quality of life to be in the middle level, although differences were found concerning working environment and safety, social and family life, and quality of work life. Multiple regression analysis of 12 demographic factors affecting quality of life indicated that registered nurses associated negative factors with age, status, education, culture and politic environment and safty and good economic, and positive factors with family income, leisure activities, mental health and satisfying work.
