Satisfaction is a key indicator for determining the success of health-care service. This study was aimed at determining factors affecting satisfaction in 326 orthopaedic inpatients. The patients completed a questionnaire which covered of 1) demographic data including age, sex, educational level, type of payment, language use, type of room, diagnosis and 2) treatment related factors including quality of care given, promptness, enthusiasm, provision of informative both doctors and nurses. Associations between demographic variables and treatment related factors and level of satisfaction were analyzed. The result showed that none of demographic variables was associated with satisfaction except type of payment (p < 0.05). All treatment related factors were significantly associated with satisfaction (p < 0.01). Most patients (82%) were satisfied with the care they received. This study showed that type of payment and quality of health care team affect satisfaction of the orthopaedic inpatients.
