To plan appropriate learning experiences for future medical practice needed evidence-based data, this study aimed to compare the satisfaction and experiences of fourth to sixth years medical students in academic year 2552 towards outpatient care in family medicine at two clinics in community and university hospital. The method was analytic using questionnaire of 5 scales and open-end questionnaire. The mean differences were assessed by t-test. It was found that the students preferred giving patient care at community clinic to university hospital clinic in 2 domains includes: patients selection (mean difference 0.19, p<0.05) and number of patients per each student (mean difference 0.16, p<0.05). In community clinics, they learned more about 1) disease patterns, 2) management of chronic disease patients and 3) using of family folders. Moreover, common problems in community are relevant to the nation (include common cold, fever, dyslipidemia, immunization, diabetes, myalgia, rash and pharyngitis respectively).
