New Paradigm for Proximal Control in Vascular Injury.

Tawiwat Surojnametakul, Burapat Sangthong

Abstract

In the past, the only treatment for vascular disease was surgery. Sometimes the operation was difficult due to re-operation at the same site. The new paradigm for proximal control using endovascular balloon catheter makes the vascular surgeons is approach the vascular site and more easily control the bleeding, resulting in low post operative complication rate. Nowadays, endovascular surgery has worldwide acceptance for the treatment of vascular injury.
